           اگر کسی از شما ادعایی علیه دیگری دارد، چگونه جرئت می‌کند شکایت خود را نه نزد مقدّسان، بلکه به محکمۀ بی‌ایمانان بَرَد؟۲آیا نمی‌دانید که مقدّسانْ دنیا را داوری خواهند کرد؟ پس شما که قرار است دنیا را داوری کنید، چگونه قادر به قضاوت دربارۀ مسائل بس کوچکتر نیستید؟۳آیا نمی‌دانید که ما فرشتگان را داوری خواهیم کرد؟ چه رسد به قضاوت دربارۀ مسائل این زندگی.۴پس آیا به‌هنگام بروز اینگونه اختلافها میان خود، کسانی را به دادرسی می‌گمارید که در کلیسا کسی به حساب نمی‌آیند؟۵این را می‌گویم تا شما را شرمنده سازم. آیا بین شما شخصی دانا نیست که بتواند به اختلافهای برادران رسیدگی کند؟۶در عوض، برادر علیه برادر به محکمه می‌رود، آن هم نزد بی‌ایمانان! ۷اصلاً وجود چنین مرافعه‌هایی بین شما، خودْ شکستی بزرگ برای شماست. چرا ترجیح نمی‌دهید مظلوم واقع شوید؟ چرا حاضر نیستید زیان ببینید؟۸برعکس، خودْ ظلم می‌کنید و به دیگری زیان می‌رسانید، آن هم به برادران خود. ۹آیا نمی‌دانید که ظالمان وارث پادشاهی خدا نخواهند شد؟ فریب نخورید! بی‌عفتان، بت‌پرستان، زناکاران، همجنس‌بازان – چه فاعل و چه مفعول،۱۰دزدان، طمع‌ورزان، میگساران، ناسزاگویان و شیّادان وارث پادشاهی خدا نخواهند شد.۱۱بعضی از شما در گذشته چنین بودید، امّا در نام عیسی مسیحِ خداوند و توسط روح خدای ما شسته شده، تقدیس گشته و پارسا شمرده شده‌اید.
